The Botanical Garden or previously called the Hutan Rekreasi Ayer Keroh was developed from an idea mooted by the Chief Minister of Melaka, YAB Datuk Seri Hj Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam on 1 June 2006. It is encircled by a woodland that contains over 300 types of unique fauna and flora.
